IPL-2 starts with a bang

The second edition of the Indian Premier League started yesterday in South Africa with 2 huge upsets.  Last year’s underperformers, Mumbai Indians beat last year’s runner’s up, Chennai Super Kings.

And in the 2nd match of the night, the so called “test team” of the IPL, Bangalore Royal Challengers beat defending champions Rajasthan Royals.  The other 4 teams in the competition (Punjab Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers) will be seen in action today (Sunday).

As usual, am rooting for the Deccan Chargers inspite of them ending up with the wooden spoon last time round.  Cant help it.  Once a Hyderabadi, always a Hyderabadi 😀

As the tournament has started off with upsets, lets see how the last time’s losers will perform this year.

It started off very well and yesterday’s game was exciting.Today the play is delayed due to rain and has been reduced to 14 overs match.I waiting for see Yuvraj in form

@Chowla, i think Yuvraj did the wrong thing by not coming at No3. He should come before Sangakkara. Also the tactical break and Vettori’s cunning bowling brought Punjab down.

@Amit, our culture vultures and jerking off watching the cheerleaders on TV.

@Chittaranjan, spinners did well in the first edition of IPL too. Think this year, the IPL would be low scoring. Indian pitches are flat and any tom dick and harry can hit out of the ground. In SA, the pitches are lively and bouncy and offer a lot for the fast bolwer as well as the spinner.

We will see a lot more balanced fight this time. Oh ya, the cheerleader’s pix are from last time, dunno if they are the same girls this time too.

I had hell lot of people arguing about the girls on my blog last year 😉
